(Source: Reuters) The Philadelphia Fire Department reported on Saturday that a firefighter was killed when a building collapsed, trapping several people.
According to the fire department, there were "2 people were trapped in the collapse at 300 W. Indiana St. One person was taken to the hospital. At the scene, the other, a 27-year veteran, was pronounced [dead]." The matter was later declared under control by the department.
"Grieving with the members of the @PhillyFireDept and everyone @PhiladelphiaGov who lost one of our own in the line of duty today," Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney wrote on Twitter.
