Officers responded to reports of a person being shot at Centennial Olympic Park Drive near the Waffle House, and upon their arrival on scene around 10 p.m., officers found three people injured and later found two others had hijacked a vehicle and self-transported themselves to a nearby hospital, Police Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said during the press conference early Sunday morning.  

"Investigators are certainly still working in turning over every leaf to determine what happened," Peek said.

The police department received several 911 calls regarding "juveniles on scooters" in the area prior to the "person shot call." Peek said that it was possible that the these young people could have been behind the shooting, adding that officers had "not had the opportunity to determine whether they were directly involved." 

"There were a number of scooters that were on the scene when we got here," Peek said. "Now, how they got here and who was using them, we'll have to figure that piece out." 

Officers who responded to the scene were able to recover three weapons and the stolen vehicle, Peek told reporters.  

Peek said the victims, who were between the ages of 15 to 19-years-old, were in stable condition.  

Police have not yet determined a motive, but the shooting remains under investigation, according to Peek, who noted that surveillance footage is being examined.
