As Russia’s attack on Ukraine continues and the war rages on, reliable sources of information are critical. Forbes gathers information and provides updates on the situation.



Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, 467 Ukrainian children have been killed, and 944 children have been injured, according to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. Most victims among children are from the Donetsk region. 378 Ukrainian children were reported missing, and 19,544 were deported. At the same time, 11,090 Ukrainian children were found, and 328 returned home.


Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out attacks against the Donetsk, Kherson, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Luhansk regions in the east, south, and north of Ukraine, reports Ukraine's Defense Ministry media center on April 7. Three civilians were killed, and 17 were wounded in the Russian attacks nationwide.

Chernihiv region. Two Russian Su-35 warplanes carried out a series of air strikes on the village of Pecheniuhy in northern Ukraine on Apr. 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Operational Command North said. Consequently, a private residence and farm buildings caught fire. No civilian casualties were immediately reported.

A series of explosions were heard at the Russian-occupied Melitopol airfield in the Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine on the night of Apr. 6. Exiled Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said in a social media post that the Russian military base at the airfield was hit. The Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Operational Command South described the event as an exercise for the future counter-offensive.

On Apr. 4 President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed to Kyiv a delegation of American politicians, business leaders and representatives of charitable organizations, headed by Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State in the Trump administration. The event, said President Zelensky, underscores the bipartisan nature of American support for Ukrainians in their struggle for freedom. “The United States stands by us and fights with us for common goals,” Zelensky continued. “Comprehensive American support is very important for us.”


President Biden has green lighted another military aid package for Ukraine, valued at $500 million, the U.S. Department of Defense announced. This aid will be in the form of equipment drawdown from existing U.S. stockpiles and includes munitions for Patriot air defense systems, ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, 120mm mortar rounds and, approximately 400 grenade launchers and 200,000 rounds of ammunition, and 11 tactical vehicles to recover equipment.
