While I’ve been editing for the last five years, my work includes children’s books, historical non-fiction, young adult, screenplay manuscripts, and everything in between. My ‘package’ generally includes basic development, line, and copyediting (proofreading, checking for inconsistencies, thematic and plot development), but I’m willing to specify to fit an author’s specific needs. In order to edit your work, I like to exchange a few emails back and forth to figure out your voice and the major concepts you’re trying to get across. I also like to know those ‘special’ little bits you don’t want sacrificed so we can see if there’s a way to incorporate them smoothly. My editorial rate is simple: 500 pages and up = $1000. 400 and up = $850. 300 and up = $650. And 250 and below is a flat rate of $500. Budgets for ghostwriting are estimated by project.
