I have been indexing for over 25 years. I index a wide range of books, journals, conference proceedings, and annual reports covering different subject matter. I have a special interest in books dealing with inspiration and motivation. My experience also includes indexing books in the social sciences, law, history, computer & Information technology, science, cooking and religion, and biographies. In addition to writing back-of-the-book indexes, I also write embedded indexes in WORD. The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), is my primary style guide, however, I also use style guides provided by publishers and authors. As a former teacher and librarian, my indexes are written based on knowledge of what readers will most likely use as access points. Being a proofreader, I frequently spot mistakes in final proofs. I am a former manager of the American Society of Indexing Web Indexing Group. I am also a current member of The Christian Pen: Editors and Proofreaders Network, The American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and The American Indexing Society (ASI).
