Hello,
My Name is Christopher Lee McElroy. I have a MS in neuroscience and pharmacology. I also have two BS degrees (psychology and biology). My research in graduate school was in a stroke lab, and my research pertained to some proteomics of neurogenesis of the subventricular zone and subgranular zone. I later had another project related to the cerebrovascular aging of the mouse cerebellum.
In my career after graduate school, I joined a Parkinson's disease lab. The focus was on the role of tyrosine hydroxylase in several brain regions and using a knock-out familial Parkinson's disease model with respect to the potential beneficial affects of exercise on PD progression.
Recently I have taken to freelance science writing and have written several blogs, articles, and edited a few dissertations. I am currently expanding my portfolio as such. I have a wealth of scientific knowledge and expertise in and out of the lab that should be beneficial to anyone looking for a science writer. I look forward to working for you.
Best Regards,
Christopher Lee McElroy
