Following an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (BA Hons 2.1, University of Cambridge) I spent seven years working as an environmental consultant (2007-14). I subsequently returned to academia to undertake a PhD in Anthropology, now awared, focusing on community relations and identity in a neighbourhood in Mumbai. As such I have a flair for research, analysis and writing and also teach anthropology at undergraduate level and coach students in essay-writing skills. I am also a freelance composer who specialises in writing songs, solo piano pieces and chamber music for piano and strings. My music is thoughtful and emotionally engaging and provides a stimulating journey for both performers and listeners. I accept new commissions of all kinds, including from performers, filmmakers and couples planning their weddings! Recent musical projects have included a trio for the rather unusual combination of violin, trumpet and piano, a piano duet that channels the sound of birds singing above a flowing stream, and a setting of a prayer in the ancient Avestan language for an opera singer who is also a trained Zoroastrian priest.
