Inquisitive Learner The prospect of fresh challenges or opportunities for learning something new excites me & taking in & applying new knowledge comes naturally to me i.e. understanding & processing information quickly. I’m very open & keen to take ownership of new projects & my ability to quickly grow my knowledge & put it into practice has helped me to overcome initial gaps I expereinced when dealing with new situations. Throughout my career I developed the habit of thinking about why I was previously unable to be critical of my own performance and found I could overcome this inability by focussing on something or what I could learn to help me improve. This process helped me to build confidence in my own ability to learn & become familiar with new skills. I have learned to keep investing in the things that I already know & do well but also to spend more time learning those things I wasn’t quite good at. I realised that although I could learn & apply new knowledge quickly that there was just as much value in doing things I already know well enough, as tempting as it may be to move on to the next exciting new thing. Thus, I was able to find the balance between new learning & the application of existing knowledge which is usually required for long term success. Throughout my career, I learned to be honest when facing obstacles or challenges & to be pragmatic about finding practical results.
