I began in the mortgage industry in 1992 and semi-retired in 2008. I am current on all new FNMA/FHA/FHLMC rules and regulations including TRID and Dodd-Frank. Additionally, I have managed loan officers and was responsible for all newspaper ad copy with the firms rates/ fees and quotes. Being able to read and interpret credit reports, evaluate DTI's, LTV's was critical in this position. The newer rules have changed how these items are evaluated and many people who would be denied a loan can now qualify. Keeping up with market fluctuations in the stock, bond and other global markets have a direct impact on which way rates go.
