I am Maureen Molly Basemera. I am currently a product analyst at Zeepay Ghana limited. I graduated in June 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Ashesi University. My skills and experiences in relation to this opportunity stem from my academic background and the initiatives I am currently running. Having attended Ashesi University, a liberal art college with an aim to build ethical and entrepreneurial leaders within Africa, I have managed to develop and strengthen my skills in different areas. These include design thinking skills, entrepreneurship, econometrics, international economics, leadership, marketing, finance, human resource, research and analysis, and several other skills. In addition to this, I have further had opportunities to travel to different countries that have built my diversity basket while enlarging and practicalizing my skills. I have flown to Canada, Kenya, Rwanda Dubai and several other countries where I have interacted with top individuals in different fields that I believe would give me the relevant skills needed for this role. To enlarge my understanding of leadership practices, I initiated a club in the name of UNHCR at Ashesi University that aimed at advocating for refugee rights within Ghana. As the vice president of the club, I managed information that circulated within schools on refugees. We organized more fundraising programs to support the refugee camps within Ghana. Moreover, I have spearheaded the development of an initiative (Glitz Pamb) that has successfully supported girls from underprivileged communities improve their hands-on skills. As the co-founder of the Glitz Pamb, we have helped girls to create jewelry products that have sold in more than 20 countries within just a few years. This initiative has supported at least 29 girls to go back to school and have fully funded their tuition. I created this company with a mission to bring back the esteem of several children who had limited opportunities. Below are some of my experiences and skills • I have successfully created and established social media campaigns for the Ashesi Business club in 2017. This boosted active users by 23% in the academic year 2016/2017. • Event organizations both within the school and outside of school that has built brand recognition. • Policy evaluation and analysis for different companies and the government of Ghana • Research and analysis skills that have been highly exercised during my final year project on the topic: an investigation on the critical infrastructure needed by the government of Ghana to move beyond aid. • Created customer engagement and digital communication initiatives such as contests and giveaways to elevate brand images. My experiences, internships, projects, and CV have demonstrated that I am confident, hardworking, a servant leader, teachable, motivated and open to change. I love developing projects, coming up with ideas that can change the world for good and several others.
