After working more than 10 years in test, QA, and development roles, when the first iPhone was publicly released I decided to break from traditional development (web, internet, software) projects and specialize in user-centric mobile testing; helping to produce quality apps that work well from the user perspective. I envisioned an industry need for true product testing (black box, manual) rather than QA (making sure that products work). I have been the sole test/QA resource for more than one dozen released apps. For these projects (all native iOS apps), I incorporated my formal QA/test knowledge into unstructured mobile development environments. While I have experience in developing and executing test strategies, plans, and cases, my role in these mobile projects has been pure manual, black box, undocumented testing. I have extensive full lifecycle QA/test experience with prominent software developers (Symantec, Apple) and startups (CareerBuilder, CyberCash), experience testing mobile projects from the advent of the iPhone, and a unique end-user perspective. I consider myself an expert communicator, as evidenced by my experience as a conference speaker, trainer, book author, and travel blogger.
