I have worked remotely for the past 2 years. Working remotely actually suits me as it helps me manage my own schedule with the working hours. Also, it cuts down commute time. Sometimes, I find commute a bit exhausting if you are living in a metro city. For me, remote working helps me channelize and focus all my energy to the work at hand without getting distracted. It has helped me boost productivity. There are some issues that I face while working remotely. The most important issue is the communication gap that is encountered some time. So, if I am working on something and need inputs from a fellow co-worker or a client, if the turn around time is huge, the momentum is lost. Another thing that I sometimes feel is a lack of company of the people around. Sometimes you feel like casually talking to coworkers regarding work-related/non-work related things. However, while working remotely, you hardly get a chance to do that. I have developed a few techniques for myself to cope up with such situations. But, overall I feel like working remotely is far more efficient if you could manage some of the aspects of it.
