6 months ago I graduated from my MFE program, and chose to work for myself as a freelance software developer. I was fortunate to land a great client right out of the gate, working remotely at a NYC hedge fund as a Quantitative Software Developer. I built financial framework, strategies, and models in Python. That contract lasted ~5 months, but the project is now complete. So I am now looking for new cool projects to work on. Would be great to land another long-term client. Before my masters degree, I spent ~4 years working full-time for Statistics Canada as a code monkey, building/analyzing databases. I am strongest with Python, R, SAS, SQL, STATA, JavaScript, and VBA. I know several other languages to varying extents. I am a fairly advanced Linux user and am working towards becoming an expert in network architecture. I am very comfortable using software development tools such as Docker and Git, and I am great at working with Machine Learning. I have experience with Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure ecosystems. I am also a level 3 CFA candidate. I am especially on the lookout for academic research opportunities. I want to do a PhD someday. My GRE score is in the 99th percentile for verbal, and 97th percentile for quantitative. I am a native English speaker, and also fully fluent in French.
