I hired Dan to help me develop a rather complex and detailed add-in for Excel. Several programmers said it either couldn't be done how I wanted it or assured me that they could do it but failed to convince me. I chose Dan because he took the time to explain, in detail, the steps he would take to complete the project and addressed the issues that I knew he should be addressing. Dan was extremely proactive in making this a successful project. On several occasions, Dan offered creative suggestions to enhance the product and was always willing to go the extra mile. Dan could have easily done just what I asked of him and I would have been satisfied; however, Dan actually seemed to care about making this a good product and he thought of several things that I hadn't. Using only my ideas this would have been a good project but with Dan's proactive and creative attitude/solutions he has made my product look great. I felt that Dan had the experience and intelligence to not simply take direction but anticipate potential problems that may arise, from a programming standpoint, and offer perhaps a better or more logical approach, when necessary. That said, Dan was always willing to accommodate all of my project demands; however, I am extremely glad that he took the initiative to add his suggestions, many of which I took. I should also mention that Dan has taken great care in terms of code optimization and post-project troubleshooting. Finally, Dan has good communication skills and met or exceeded every one of my deadlines. For my upcoming projects, Dan will have my first consideration.

Dan did an excellent job with the project he completed for me. He got the bid by giving a very detailed, specific proposal which demonstrated a clear understanding of the project details and his relevant skills and experience to complete the project. He proposed a completion timeline which was very efficient and reasonable - and he met all of the timelines he set for himself. His responses to all of my comments and bug-fix requests were immediate, and the fixes available on the same day (usually within a couple of hours). All in all a very good experience for me as a first-time user of guru.com. I will certainly use this service again - and use Dan if he is available for the project. I highly recommend him.
