I am a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in history and 8 years experience as a family researcher. I am a member of the Maryland Historical Society, the Maryland Genealogical Society, and the National Genealogical Society. This may sound unusual, but through the course of my research, I continuously try to disprove my own findings. I have greater success when I am reluctant to reach concrete conclusions. I rarely assume that a discovery is absolute until after multiple sources have been found and verified. With this method, along with perseverance, I have resolved many of the mysteries of my own family’s history. My fees are negotiable. Because I tend to be very methodical, I feel it is more fair to NOT charge clients by the hour. I charge only for each direct line ancestor uncovered. And because I love what I do and because each person’s family and family story is unique, my fees are negotiable. Please reach out so we can discuss your own search. Communication and trust is something that I strive for in a client/researcher relationship. Family discoveries are exhilarating and provide one with a feeling of connectivity to their past. But some discoveries may be unsettling or even disturbing. Many of these revelations are unexpected and some may be hard to take. Our ancestors, after all, were only human. This will be a highly personal journey for you, the client. And it may be an emotional one. Establishing a safe space that exists between researcher and client is key. My specialties and interests include: -Wills and Deeds of Kent County, DE. Other areas where I may be able to help: -Building reverse trees based on familial relationships found by DNA analysis. -Assistance with DAR research and filing for DAR status -I also work with a private investigator so I can be of help finding living, contemporaneous family members, such as birth parents.
