I previously worked on national project in the Coordinating Ministry of Economy to create a webGIS portal with various kind of maps including: land licensing, forest status, borders, mining permit, etc. The purpose of One Map Policy (OMP) is to: 1) compile all official maps in Indonesia into one geoportal, 2) integrate those maps with the base such as datum and projection, and 3) synchronize those maps by utilizing them as solution for overlapping interests. Personally I work on land licensing on various purposes and mining permits. I compiled, integrated, and synchronized those maps with one another and also other maps to obtain insights of the problems in this area. After that, we contacted each of the related institution to confirm about the status. In some cases the problems were about the methodology and GIS skills, but in other cases the problems were much more fundamental. Hence, we need to report it to Corruption Eradication Commission and Financial Supervisory Body of Indonesia. - For short, my experience in this job is: 1) Technical skills on webGIS, 2) Technical skills on GIS, especially on integrating various kinds of maps into one environment, 3) Communication skills on compiling the maps, 4) Intellectual skills on law-related science on maps, and 5) Deductive approach on how GIS and Maps can holistically solve national problems.
