Germans ask: Why donate our money to Ukr

$5/hr Starting at $25

Readers of a German newspaper address the issue of German aid to Ukraine, and see that the European Union countries are violating the rules in favor of Ukraine, which is mired in corruption.

Readers of the German newspaper "Die Welt" criticized the European Union's decision to send 18 billion euros to Kiev, despite Hungary's opposition position.

This comes in light of the European Union's planning to circumvent the veto right taken by Hungary, since the 18 billion euros will not be allocated from the general budget of the European Union, but rather from the finances of the participating countries.

Readers of the newspaper also accused the EU countries of "violating their own rules, in favor of Ukraine mired in corruption, in addition to being not part of the European Union, as well as the hypocritical attitude towards Hungary."

One of the readers asked: "Are there any principles left in the European Union? The rules of the Union are being violated, and members of the Commission are being arrested on charges of corruption. What have we got ourselves into because of this European Union?"

Another wrote: "Why do you give the money of the European Union to a foreign country that is not a member of it? This is a waste of our taxes! Zelensky should withdraw his dirty money from his accounts and return it to Ukraine, where it belongs!"

Another added: "A member state of the European Union is boycotted, while Zelensky, who is alien to the alliance, gets billions! Look for the error."

Another commented: "Mr. Zelensky will be very happy with this donation, which will go directly to his accounts in Panama!"

Another said: "I will draw your attention to the fact that Ukraine is not a member of the European Union, and corruption is more pervasive than member Hungary, except that union money is lent to Kiev while Budapest has been accused of corruption and has been denied it," and asked: "Is it possible to recover this money from Ukraine one day  What?".

German media reported more than once that "Berlin's supply of weapons to Kiev led to a significant decrease in the amount of ammunition in Germany, and they also talked about major problems that impede the process of producing new weapons and ammunition.

More recently, the Federal Government announced that Germany would have to purchase ammunition with a budget of €20 billion, and that "the arms industry must now expand its capabilities very rapidly for reasons of security policy."
