Documents have ranged in style from highly technical to quite informal - sometimes user documentation needs humor to get the intended audience to even think about reading it...
Currently I am responsible for maintaining the material on the US Fish and Wildlife Service web site related to Geographic Information Systems (computerized mapping). The audience consists of the general public as well as a variety of natural resource and computer professionals, so the material needs to be technically accurate as well as readable by a wide variety of people.
