I am a fast, efficient writer with a variety of "available modes" including journalistic and critical/analytical. I edit - both copy and substantive - with a keen eye, a native ability for the rhythm of speech and reading, and a ruthless aversion to redundancy. My articles are crisp and tight. I am a seasoned journalist, having spent five years as an Army journalist - fifteen months of that in a hot combat zone in southern Baghdad. I also put in a few summers writing for independent small newspapers. I write fiction in my free time; papers as I work on finishing a degree; freelance articles as often as I can. I have a tremendous ability to skim a great deal of information and distill it into strong, concrete writing.
