I am an experienced software developer with an exceptional academic background, experienced in developing web, mobile and geospatial applications. I have experience of Agile (scrum) development, and working within interdisciplinary teams to develop components of large applications. I am an advocate of advocate of testing, documentation and efficient development process, particularly virtualisation, automation and continuous integration. I have strong analytical and design skills; with Ordnance Survey I led the refactoring of the “OpenSpace” javascript API (based on OpenLayers), in my prior roles I led the development of a geospatial data analysis application for the Metropolitan Police, I was developing web and Android applications at the University of Nottingham, and have many years of web development experience and Windows Mobile development throughout my PhD onwards. User experience has been a key element in my work, based on the creative and human-cantered design research at the Mixed Reality Lab, University of Nottingham, then in developing a social networking application with Nodal Networks, London, UK. I am adaptable to multiple technologies with the ability to distil high level requirements into specific designs, analyse risk and compromises.
