I have been employed as a Grant Writer with the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council for the past nineteen months. In this position, I have developed a strong understanding of the grant writing process: developing timelines, outlining projects, creating budgets, and requesting meaningful letters of support from partners.
I have applied for federal grants from funding sources such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), as well as state level grants such as the Healthiest Cities and Counties Grant, and more localized and community-based funding opportunities.
I have experience on and access to multiple grant researching platforms such as Grants.gov and Grant Watch. My experience searching for applicable funding opportunities has paired many organizations with grants they were eligible for to sustain their organization.
I have written and submitted a successful multi-year grant for $100,000 in 2020. Since then I have continued to hone my skills and apply for a variety of grants, many of which are still under consideration.
