Benjamin Torres is a motivated, creative, and determined Graphic Designer with a MA in Interdisciplinary Design from Chatham University with a passion for illustrations, graphic design, photography & creative writing. He is also passionate about finding new and creative solutions for old problems, looking for new opportunities and projects to improve in the design field. As a Graphic Designer, Benjamin has designed and developed various projects for nonprofit Foundations and also has been in charge of the Design and Marketing departments. Benjamin hails from Ecuador, a small country in Latin America known for being the world’s most biodiverse country. He started his career as a Freelance Designer, offering creative solutions and illustrations as an alternative for standard photography. He also worked for a very popular magazine called VISTAZO as a designer for layout content and photography. Before coming to the US, Benjamin took the challenge of being in charge of the Design and Marketing Department for the non-profit foundation HERENCIA FAMILIAR and the construction company ENSAMBLAJES. In this role, he had to create designs for web and print such as advertisements and Facebook posts. He also was in charge of recording the events from the Foundation, editing the footage and uploading the final video to their Facebook page. Throughout his experience, Benjamin developed valuable technical skills such as high proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite programs Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. His language skills include Spanish (native), English (advanced), and German (Basic). Benjamin currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and works full-time as a Freelance Designer.
