I am a hardware prototype designer with a focus on full electrical development including: architecture, design, CAD (schematic/PCB layout), manufacturing, bring-up and firmware. I have experience developing rapid prototypes as well as some production/DFM work both in the US and China. I’m comfortable managing vendors and coordinating contract manufacturers. I’ve worked in both corporate and startup environments, so I am very comfortable both with working from a specification or an idea. I’m partial to high-speed digital PCB design (especially FPGAs), but have also worked on a variety of other boards including analog, high voltage, networking, IoT and some RF devices. I also can build my own rapid prototypes in-house with my mill and 3D printer. I personally own a copy of Altium Designer, which I use for all my PCB design. I’m also comfortable in Cadence/OrCAD, Mentor and EAGLE My interest areas include FPGAs and complex, high-density, multi-layer circuit designs. I also have recently jumped into 3D printing and love helping with minor mechanical work. I’m the type of guy that will go figure out a solution to a problem even though it’s not something I know initially, so just ask!
