I am a Holistic Health Practitioner with a Master of Nutrition degree from NC State and am Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition®. I am completing a program through IIN for health and wellness coaching and am also sitting for the Lifestyle Medicine board exam this year. This means that I integrate the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine into my regular practice. These include:
- Incorporating a more plant predominant diet
- Regular physical activity
- Stress reduction and management techniques
- Restorative sleep
- Avoidance of toxic substances
- Supportive social connections
Being diagnosed with Celiac Disease as a child in 1986 (years before it was even recognized as an official disease), food and health have been a big part of my life. This was the impetus for my work to help others attempt to live their healthiest and best lives through food and nutrition. I worked in the food service industry for more than 20 years. I've worked in restaurants, as a nutritional consultant, catering, a five-star hotel and owned the first gluten free bakery in my area.
I work with clients to assist with health and wellness goals that they've either been struggling to achieve and/or maintain. I currently work with both human and animal clients. In addition to this, I also work with restaurants, hotels, catering companies, corporations, etc. to assist with creating more dietary inclusions, as well as more clearly labeled menus for dietary restrictions.
