I am a certified public schoolteacher in Washington State who is looking for a group of homeschool students to instruct. I have 12 years of experience working in an elementary school, 5 as a para educator and 7 as a classroom teacher. I specialize in teaching grades 2 and 3, but am open to teaching 1st through 5th as needed.

Current regulations no longer allow me to teach in the heart-centered way with which I align. I traditionally create a nurturing environment in which students feel safe to share, question and express themselves.

As a home school instructor, I envision working with students in person 1 or 2 days per week, then designing a home-based curriculum for the other days. This will allow an ideal combination of peer socializing and parent involvement.

My ideal curriculum integrates art, science, mindfulness and nature into math, reading, and writing. It also focuses on emotional intelligence and self-empowerment. I am open to parent input regarding lessons and methods.
