NEW DELHI: India's equity markets are likely to witness a negative start on Wednesday following global cues even though the markets rebounded on Tuesday. Wall Street, however, ended sharply lower on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq closing at its lowest since December 2020 as investors worried about slowing global growth and a more aggressive US Federal Reserve. Tesla slumped 12% after investors worried that chief executive Elon Musk might sell some of his stake in the electric car maker to help pay for his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter.
Oil prices also rose after China's central bank pledged support to its economy. The Asian investors followed their US counterparts as Wall Street fall dampened risk appetite.
