I've been working in the field of learning and online learning for more than 20 years and I've shifted my approach to instructional design many times as new technologies and insights into adult learning have emerged. Today I focus on 4 things in the design: 1. Clean, clear and beautiful designs ... content that makes sense, has flow and is beautiful 2. Learner centered content ... give people just enough of what they need 3. The combination of formats that will be most useful to the learner ... don't force someone through a painful hour long course if 3 short bite-size chunks will do 4. Interoperable technologies that can be used on any device ... people learn everywhere today I've worked on hundreds of large (certification) programs for the likes of Intel and The Institute of Management Accountants and small mini courses for clients such as JD Powers and The institute of Functional Medicine. I also led a team to develop the first digital, asynchronous certificate program for ATD on the topic of Adult Learning! I have a strong technology background having helped to build and grow a tech start up (check out the learning platform Crowd Wisdom) and worked with organizations such as Community Brands and Ministry Brands who offer large, integrated suites of Saas based products. I've helped with many technical implementation projects involving technologies such as Ceridian's Dayforce HRIS, Salescloud & Servicecloud, Sage Intuit and dozens of other smaller Saas technologies. I've helped teams save thousands of training hours by incorporating the use of beautifully designed and easy to use job aids and procedures.
