The American House of Representatives will try this Friday, January 6 for the fourth consecutive day to elect its new president, and to get out of the paralysis in which dissension in the Republican ranks plunged it. Twenty elected Trumpists involved The elected representative of California has reached out to the twenty or so Trumpist elected officials playing spoilsports, offering them sizeable concessions during behind-the-scenes negotiations. In vain. The group, which says it has no confidence in itself, still refused to fall into line, leaving the House of Representatives one more day without a president, a scenario unheard of in 160 years. This blockage has very concrete repercussions: without a "speaker", elected officials cannot take an oath or therefore vote on a bill. Members of the most conservative fringe of the party, these elected Trumpists take advantage of the very thin Republican majority won in the November mid-term elections to set their conditions.
