Storytelling is my cause-- and I believe stories make for fantastic learning. Strong skill transfer depends on opportunities for practice, which stories provide. As an instructional designer and writer, my favorite techniques are story-based: scenarios, case studies, and examples. Whatever the subject matter, the goal is to make content applicable, not abstract, and stories have a unique power to make this possible. Five years of professional experience as a instructional designer and creative writer have lead me to an approach which incorporates proven learning strategies while remaining relevant, respectful and useful to the learner.
