Living in the Great Northwest with my little family, I am a passionate tinkerer; I got a master's degree in 2009 as a mechanical engineer (fluid mechanics emphasis) but have never worked as a mechanical engineer. In my current day job I work for a photoreconnaissance company (making 3D/color maps from up to 100k aerial image). I have extensive experience/expertise on these topics: Nonlinear optimization, smooth and discrete My main strength is in optimization. Normally, I start from a need, pose the problem, simplify the problem as appropriate, and then write highly optimized code to generate solutions.
