“You are the next…”: JK Rowling threatened with death

Hours after the attempted murder of writer Salman Rushdie, JK Rowling received a death threat. British police have opened an investigation.

Between JK Rowling and social networks, it's a real love story . Last November, the author's home address was posted on social media after she made comments deemed transphobic . This Friday, August 12, the author of the Harry Potter saga is again the target of a particularly vehement Internet user . Thus, the Twitter user would have made a death threat against the writer. Two days earlier, JK Rowling had given her support to writer Salman Rushdie , victim of a knife attack in the United States.

The 57-year-old Briton had shared a tweet in which she said she was "sickened" and wished the author of The Satanic Verses a good recovery . In response to his message, a user, posing as a student and political activist based in Pakistan , then launched: "Don't worry, you're next." While the tweet was later deleted, the best-selling author posted a screenshot, calling out the "TwitterSupport" account for a potential rule violation.
