The response came from Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who demanded that the South Korean president "shut his mouth."

This came after he reiterated his country's readiness to provide economic assistance to Pyongyang in exchange for its abandonment of nuclear weapons.

The remarks from Kim's sister are the first direct comment by a senior official on the South Korean leader's plan to mark his 100th day in office.

"I think the plan to trade economic cooperation for our honor, for nuclear weapons, is the dream, the hope and the grand plan of Leon," Kim Yo Jong was quoted as saying by the North's official Korean Central News Agency. "We realized that he is really naive and still childish."

"Although he may be knocking on the door with a big plan in the future because (his bold plan) is not working, we are making it clear that we will not sit with him face to face," she added
