It is not certain that the diesel price will be reduced by SEK 5.50 per liter after the Tidö parties reduced the reduction obligation to six percent at the turn of the year. This is what Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) says to TT.

 - No one can promise exactly, because it depends on what price effects we have for other reasons as well of course. We made a calculation example that shows that if you have very high mixing requirements for biofuel, which is much more expensive, then there will be big price differences.

 When the proposal was presented this weekend, the government and the Sweden Democrats wrote that "the new lower level will apply during the mandate period and means that it can be approximately SEK 5.50 cheaper per liter of diesel, including VAT, to fill up as early as 2024".

 Subsequently, several in the fuel industry have said that the price reduction may not come close to that figure. The price may even go up.

 - There are certainly those in the fuel industry who do not like this, I respect that. But it is not for their sake that we lower the reduction obligation, it is for Swedish households, says Kristersson.
