The World Cup is a momentous occasion in the history of Qatar, and we’re all excited to be just a small part of it.

And if you’re looking to sign up to become a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 volunteer, you don’t have long, as registration will close on Sunday July 31.

Qatar is recruiting 20,000 volunteers for the tournament, which will run between November 21 and December 18.

Applications to become a volunteer first opened back in March, with thousands of candidates from more than 170 countries interviewed since mid-May.

Interviews are being conducted by volunteers who have already helped at events including the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020 and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, and will be complete by August 13 – marking 100 days to go until the tournament.

Faisal Al Mohanadi, who volunteered at past events, said, “I am very proud to support the volunteer programme, which will unite people through football and help to introduce fans from across the world to our country.

“It is my belief that this programme will create a proud volunteering legacy in Qatar and across the region.”

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over by October 1, speak English, and be available to commit to a minimum of ten shifts during the tournament.

If you’re interested in registering, you will need to head over to volunteer.fifa.com and fill in the application form before taking on the trials – an online gamified assessment – and finally booking your interview.
