I've worked in the for profit and not for profit space in India drafting and advising clients on a diverse range of legal matters, specific focus on labour laws, copyright and privacy issues. I've also experience in interdisciplinary qualitative research on law and policy issues with specific focus on bringing the gender and inclusion lens to the fore.
I've spent the last three months as the Chief of Staff for a not for profit in India reviewing and restructuring their organization policies and successfully negotiating contracts with vendors.
A specific instance was securing assurance in writing from the vendor that they would not use our employee data from their HRMS software they provide to pitch other financial products by the vendor to our employees.
This was a huge win as the data privacy regime in India remains in a limbo and also because the organization I worked for employs women from urban slums making them a vulnerable group from a data privacy standpoint.
