But did you know you can make something fun with leftover zest?

If you peel oranges and manage to get two equal parts of zest, you can make something very cute. You can make your own scented candles! The remaining two parts of zest serve as small bowls. It is a cheap alternative to buying expensive scented candles. Plus, it's a fun and easy DIY that will make your home smell great!

What do you need ?

  • 2 halves of orange peel
  • 2 large tealight candles
  • 1 saucepan

Here's what you need to do:

  • Peel the orange so that you have two equal halves.
  • Remove the foil wrap from tealight candles and pull the stem out through the bottom of the candle.
  • Mix the candle wax.
  • Place the candle stem in the middle of the orange peel bowl.
  • Carefully pour the melted wax into the bowl and be careful that the rod stays in the middle of the bowl.
  • Let the wax dry properly. Light the stem and enjoy the delicious citrus scent that fills your home
