I have worked as the Operations Manager with two lighting design firms for over a decade. One firm was in Oklahoma (I worked there for seven years before moving to the east coast). At that company, I was personally trained by our CPAs in Quickbooks software, more specifically Quickbooks Pro Desktop. The other firm is in NYC and I have been with this company for over four years. We currently use Quickbooks Pro 2020, and I am very thorough with my work. To a point that our current NYC CPAs asked me where I went to school for accounting. Unfortunately, I do not have an accounting degree or even a business degree. However, I have had the training and the experience of someone who has. As for degrees, I earned my MFA in Lighting Design from Boston University in 2015. Since graduating, I have been a freelance lighting designer, associate and assistant for theatre and events. This has been in conjunction with being an Operations Manager.
