Network Configuration:
- configure network interfaces;
- assign IP addresses;
- setup routing tables;
- manage network services such as DHCP, DNS, and NTP (Network Time Protocol);
- troubleshoot connectivity issues related to networking configuration.

DNS Configuration:
- configure DNS servers such as BIND or dnsmasq to resolve domain names to IP addresses and vice versa;
- manage zone records;
- set up recursive, forwarding and stub resolvers;
- troubleshoot connectivity issues related to DNS configuration.

Application Administration (Installation / Configuration / Maintenance):
- install, configure, and maintain various applications and services such as web servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx), databases (e.g. MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL), key-value stores (e.g. Redis), email servers (e.g. Postfix, Dovecot), and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla), e-commerce stores (e.g. Magento, WooCommerce, Spryker E-Commerce);
- monitor application health, performance, and resource utilization;
- apply patches and updates;
- troubleshoot application issues.

Data Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions;
- schedule and execute regular backups of critical data;
- define and test recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in case of system failures, data corruption, or catastrophic events.

Monitoring and Observability:
- install and configure monitoring tools;
- monitor system metrics, log files, and application performance;
- configure alerts, dashboards, and automated responses to detect anomalies, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues proactively.

Management of User and Service Accounts:
- manage user accounts / service accounts, groups, and permissions;
- manage access credentials (e.g. SSH keys).

Firewall Configuration:
- configure firewalls using tools like iptables, firewalld and others;
- define rules to allow or deny incoming and outgoing traffic based on IP addresses, ports, and protocols;
- troubleshoot connectivity issues related to packet filtering.

Brute-Force Protection:
- implement security tools (e.g. fail2ban) to prevent brute-force attacks against system accounts and services;
- monitoring of failed logins to identify and prevent abuse.

Email Configuration:
- configure email servers (e.g. Postfix);
- manage mailboxes, aliases, mailing lists, and SMTP relays;
- configure spam filtering and virus scanning.

DDoS Attack Mitigation:
- deploy DDoS mitigation techniques at both the network (i.e. rate limiting and traffic shaping) and application layers (i.e. web application firewalls and bouncers);
- configure firewalls, load balancers, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to filter and block malicious traffic;
- optimize server and network configurations to handle high volumes of traffic;
- monitor network and application traffic to identify issues.
