PoderData: Lula has 44%; Bolsonaro, 37%; Cyrus, 6%; Tebet, 4%

A PoderData poll released this Wednesday, 17, shows former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) 7 points ahead of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The distance between them has fluctuated one point down from the previous round of the lift. According to the institute, the PT candidate currently has 44% of the preference, compared to 37% for the chief executive.

Ciro Gomes (PDT) has 6%, and Simone Tebet (MDB), 4%. Both are tied on the margin of error, which is plus or minus 2 points. Sofia Manzano (PCB) has 1%. Other candidates did not score. This was the first time that the poll tested the names of Roberto Jefferson (PTB) and Soraya Thronicke (União Brasil) in the dispute. This replaced Luciano Bivar , his party colleague who withdrew from the contest and was disregarded. The name of deputy André Janones (Avante) was also excluded. He decided to support Lula, and Avante joined the PT coalition.

Lula has 52% in the simulation of the second round, against 38% for Bolsonaro. The PT lead is 14 points. In the previous round, the gap was 10 points: the PT candidate had 50% and the president, 40%.

PodeData consulted 3,500 voters by telephone between August 14th and 16th. The research is carried out with its own resources. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus. Registration with the Electoral Court is BR-02548/2022.
