I am a driven Mechanical Engineer with 20+ years experience in product development ranging from medical devices to consumer products. The past 3 years I was part of the Device Development department at Genentech (gene.com) in South San Francisco, a pharmaceutical company owned by Roche, where I worked on delivery devices for drugs that fight cancer and other diseases. Prior to that I ran my own small R&D design firm (clickproto.com) serving various industries. A few examples of successful projects over the years include a bone cement delivery system (Medtronic CDS), a music synthesizer case (Tiptop Audio Mantis), and a therapeutic massage device (Prosqueeze). I am looking for a freelance mechanical design role with dynamic and exciting companies and clients in Berlin (currently residing) where I can make a significant contribution. 

My strengths include the design of static and dynamic mechanical assemblies, injection molded plastic/elastomeric components, precision metal assemblies, and complex user interfaces. Hands-on prototyping and testing is something I love to do. I have led teams that executed various development stage prototype builds, strength/functionality testing, and simulated use studies. Other core aspects of my experience include creation and execution of verification test protocols, engineering test reports, manufacturing line support, and oversight of delegated design activities. I have worked heavily with cross-functional teams, marketing, and management to maintain timelines, reduce cost, and focus on customer needs while managing risk.
