An aid for editing/proofreading books or other documents. A report is generated from your word processor or text file identifying mis-matching quotes, brackets, and parentheses as well as other mechanically-detectable problems. The software looks for a lot of things. Improbable words or spellings, e.g., modem where modern is more likely. Homophones (threw/through) and close words (trough/through) are flagged by part-of-speech analysis. Corrections / changes are not made to files. Word lists can be returned of (1) all the words in a book with their individual counts; (2) words that do not match a list of common English words (very good for finding inconsistencies in proper names and discipline-specific spellings).
