I am what I like to think of as an intuitive type of engineer. Truly creative solutions to problems are more likely to come from intuition than from white board analysis. Like a fire, any new innovative solution comes from an intuitive spark. After serving in the US Air Force, I worked in the electronics industry for a few years before deciding to go to school part-time to get my BS in Mechanical Engineering. It took nine years while working full time and raising a family. Now I have five patents so far and co-authored eleven technical papers on new devices using both new and current technologies. My career has covered many fields such as assembly line DC electric fastening tools, pharmaceutical blending equipment, exercise equipment, visual inspection systems and entertainment industry equipment. Below you will find a short summary of my engineering experience:
20+ years – Electro-mechanical devices and systems design and development
15+ years – Solidworks / Skill level: Expert
4+ years – Inventor / Skill level: Expert
20+ years – FEA experience (Solidworks / Skill level: Expert, Inventor / Skill level: Expert)
20+ years – Product testing experience
Life cycle testing (Design, Fabrication, Execution)
Strength testing (Torque, Tensile, Compressive)
SAT and FAT processes
In addition to my experience, I have made numerous connections in various industries that would facilitate product development and manufacturing. Included among my contacts are regulatory testing services, sheet metal fabricators, injection molding houses for aluminum, plastic and rubber, electronics job shops, and machining centers.
