I have a PhD in medical sciences (cancer immunology) and eight years of science experience. I have published research papers, reviews, textbook chapters, meeting reports, and have extensive experience in grant writing. I am passionate about working on creative innovations that make a real difference in people’s lives. After working for over 8 years in preclinical medical research, I am currently transitioning into roles in clinical research. I have a keen interest in medical writing jobs, in particular in relation to clinical trials. During my research career, I have managed several projects with national and international collaborators resulting in grant funding and publications. Outstanding communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability to changing situations were essential for these projects to succeed. Beyond publishing in scientific journals, I am passionate about science communication and have therefore enjoyed presenting my data at multiple national and international conferences and meetings, and communicating science with young students during my volunteering activities. I have obtained leadership skills by mentoring and supervising nine undergrad and grad students over the past 5 years, I planned and organized trainee career days for cancer immunotherapy conferences, and I advocated for the rights of postdocs when I was a vice-chair on the executive board of the Canadian Association for Postdoctoral Scholars. My technical skills include ample experience in IHC and IF tissue imaging and image analysis, flow cytometry, immune assays, (primary) cell culture, database work, and data analysis. I have various ESL clients all over the globe for whom I edit manuscripts before submission to a journal. Furthermore, I work as a clinical trial coordinator, writing and editing all documentation to set up a clinical trial.
