My core skill set is transcription from MP3, WAV, CD, DVD and other formats. I can produce finished documents in Microsoft Word either verbatim or non-verbatim (cleaned up) text. I am familiar with financial, legal and medical terminology. As I listen to a recording, I am concurrently editing for correct word usage, verifying spelling and punctuation, as well as removing the "um's" and "uh's" of normal speech when preparing a non-verbatim document. Also having been exposed to multiple foreign accents of speakers over my 30 years of transcription experience, I can pretty much decipher what is being said. Also, because my hearing is sensitive to various subtle vocal nuances between one or more speakers in a recording (for example in a focus group of multiple speakers), I have a pretty high accuracy rate for properly differentiating who is speaking at any given time.Finally, I follow directions well for whatever format the client requires for their finished document.
