Ty Pettiford has over 22 years of service in Information Technology industry assisting financial, healthcare, federal government and non-profit companies. He currently leads AppsTek’s Microsoft Solutions practice. His focus is on evangelizing and architecting Microsoft solutions that provide deep business insights and analytics. He helps AppsTek customers by: • Developing BI strategies that improve data quality and provide trusted data • Ensuring predictable project results within the Microsoft practice by sharing best practices and adherence to implementation standards • Leveraging new or emerging technologies including cloud based solutions and analytical platforms Recent work includes engagements with Cook Children’s Health Care Network, Boy Scouts of America, American Airlines and Bell Helicopter. One notable accomplishment is the successful data migration of the membership system for Boy Scouts of America which transitioned the organization from Oracle 8i to Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2. This project saved the organization $500K annually in licensing and maintenance fees and improved overall performance of critical application and reports most notably the search organization hierarchy use case which went from 3.7 minutes to less than 3 seconds. Ty obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas College in Tyler, TX in 1994. He is now pursuing a dual MBA and Master of Divinity degree from Texas Christian University (TCU). He is the father of 4 children (Caleb, Walter, Emani and Tre) and grandfather of one child (Jori Rose).
