I grew up in a nursing home. My mom was a single mom, so I got a 10 year unpaid internship to start! I became an LNA right out of Junior year. Eventually switch from nursing home to home health care. They noticed I had a high retention rate and that I already knew how to do most things I shouldn't do. In the 5 years I did home health, I became a "Skilled" aid, which allowed me to clean and operate trachea tubes, feeding tubes, IV'S (no phlebotomy), catheters (cleaning and removal only)... I also became quite good at diagnostic type stuff, though legally they always confirmed for themselves. Then, I sold health insurance for a year. This gives me the edge up in any and all medical based data entry, filing, what have you. I know the front and back of the health are world fairly well.
