The official page of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the social networking site “Facebook” published a video clip of a session held by Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, with the players of the Egyptian national team after the defeat against Senegal on penalties yesterday, Tuesday, in the second leg of the African qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup.

And Mohamed Salah, the star of the Liverpool team, said in a message that everyone considered ambiguous while speaking to his colleagues that he was proud to play with this generation of players, explaining that the Egyptian team lost the World Cup qualification card by penalty kicks, "which is something that no one can interfere in."

Salah added: "I played for a while with the previous generation led by Mohamed Aboutrika and Wael Gomaa, and I also played with the next generation with distinguished players like Abdullah Al-Saeed."

And he added, "There is not much to say, but in fact I had the honor to play with the current generation."

He ended his speech by saying: "Whether you are present or not..." The Minister of Sports interrupted him, stressing that "everyone continues and there are challenges ahead." And he added, "Captain Muhammad is the decree of God and what he wills he does."

After these statements, Salah raised a series of questions because of his incomplete sentence, which sparked controversy about the possibility of his thinking about international retirement in the coming days.
