I have been transcribing music long before I started writing music. It is one of my specialties. I'm currently interning for the Boston Camerata as their transcriber. I use Sibelius for my transcription. If you have a song you wrote by hand and don't know how to use the software, just send it over to me. If you've written a song that's only been recorded, but you don't know how to read music, send it my way, and I can get it on paper. However, I will charge more for music I have to learn by ear than through already written sheet music, as it will take me longer to learn by ear. I am also available to transcribe music that isn't yours, but I do have some rules regarding them. If my transcriptions will be for a non-professional event, I'd be happy to transcribe anything. If my transcriptions will be used for a PROFESSIONAL event, I won't transcribe any copyrighted material. I don't want you or I to be held accountable for violating copyright. I charge $30 minimum for a max 3-minute song for 1-2 instruments that I learn from sheet music, assuming it takes me 1 hour max to complete. If the piece you want me to transcribe is longer than 3 minutes or has more than 2 instruments, the price will go up. The extra amount will depend on how much longer I anticipate it will take me to complete the project. Also, if I'm transcribing a song I have to learn by ear, the price will double because it takes me twice as long to transcribe a song I have to learn by ear.
