As a N-Central Consultant, I advise internal staff as they build out the product, assess existing deployment and provide architectural recommendations to dramatically improve long-term usability and harness automation.
I have over 4 years of experience with managing, maintaining, and upgrading the N-Able N-Central remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform. During this time, I revamped the architecture six times, improving each time until I had achieved the perfect implementation that provided power and control across every client or a single endpoint. For example, within minutes authorized Engineers could deploy (or remove) software from every client we supported. And within minutes, a Technician could make temporary or permanent changes to all a customer's endpoints or to a single endpoint. I achieved a level of control and optimization not provided with the out-of-box experience but fully supported, approved, and commended by N-Able Product Leaders, Product Managers, and “Head Nerds.”
Example of Architecture: Engineered the most efficient and powerful architecture possible with N-Central based on custom properties, filters, rules, and task profiles with PowerShell modules/scripts achieving the perfect balance of control, adaptability, simplicity, maintainability, and power.
Example of Efficiency: Technicians could onboard clients to base settings, accounts, and software in minutes instead of hours. Engineers could deploy and remove software for all clients, specific clients, and/or specific endpoints through the use of organization and device custom properties. Eliminated redundant rules and scheduled tasks.
Example of Automation: Deployed secondary remote access tools, local admin creds, and DSRM creds automatically. Audited AD and Azure AD for AMs to compare with agreements. Onboarded clients to security products through reusable organization custom properties, including custom service monitors to audit status.
Example of Documentation: Created over 500 SOPs including 358 SOPs for N-Central, 189 HOWTO SOPs, 31 best practices SOPs, 27 SLA onboarding SOPs, 12 Veeam Service provider and Veeam Linux repository SOPs. Scoped and deployed over 63 backup & disaster solutions along with Lucidchart diagrams for the client.
