TUA and NASA team up for the largest space hackathon ever.

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that one of this year's stakeholders in the International Space Applications Competition, organized by the US Aerospace Agency (NASA), is the Turkish Space Agency (TUA), and said, We have captured areas to transfer our experiences."

According to a press release from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TUA took part in the International Space Apps Challenge this year. For 11 years, NASA sponsored the competition.

The event, which aims to generate open-source solutions to the challenges experienced in the world and in space, also includes significant space agencies from Europe, Japan, China, Australia, and South Africa (ESA, JAXA, CSA, ASA, and SANSA). These organizations participate in addition to TUA.

Minister Kacr, whose opinions were incorporated into the statement, noted that TUA is one of the organization's newest members, joining more than 30000 other competitors, and declared, "Turkey will demonstrate its presence throughout the world in order to be among the nations that have a say in space. Every year, thousands of teams from all over the world and from space compete. Showcases initiatives that demonstrate collaboration and the potential for resolving difficulties.

Mentioning that multiple evaluations were conducted during the competition to select the most creative and successful proposals as the winners, and saying:

"This year, in order to support the competition, we worked with NASA through TUA. As a result, in addition to learning from their expertise, we also take note of areas where we may apply our own space initiatives and experiences. Our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, introduced the National Space Program, which has big ambitions for our nation. Space, we’ll put more money into technology.

Competition encourages increased interest in space science and exploration

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a well-known global open source hackathon that takes place in places all over the world and lasts for more than 48 hours. To address the difficulties they encounter on Earth and in space, programmers, scientists, designers, storytellers, producers, technicians, and anybody else who is curious join together.

In addition to fostering the development and variety of the future generation of scientists, technicians, designers, and engineers, the competition fosters creativity and critical thinking to raise interest in earth and space science and their exploration.
